Well hell yeah! Sunday is National Tequila Day and there are plenty of places around town where you can get into the spirit. Check out these offerings!

Known for its extensive tequila program, authentic Mexican food and famous Shaker Margaritas, Picos is honoring National Tequila Day with a specialized menu boasting tequila-infused meals such as the Tequila Garlic Shrimp ($21) made with 1800 Cristalino sautéed gulf shrimp, garlic, dried chiles & cilantro and served with white rice; Tequila Lime Chicken Tacos ($18) featuring Cuervo Tradicional Reposado grilled tequila and lime marinated chicken, avocado and jalapeño Mexican slaw served on corn tortillas; and the Filete Con Tuetano En Tabla de Sal ($59) with Cazadores Reposado 16 oz. charbroiled beef tenderloin flambéed with tequila served with roasted bone marrow, cilantro potatoes and roasted garlic.

Picos will also offer six unique tequila flight options, including the Cristalinos Centenarios ($18) with Gran Coramino, 1800 Cristalino, Maestro Dobel Diamante, Cuervo Tradicional Cristalino, as well as the Las Haciendas ($25) San Matias Gran Reserva 3 year – Picos Barrel, Cazadores Extra Añejo, Casa Noble Extra Añejo – Picos Barrel and Herradura Legend. Start the celebration early on Saturday July 23, with a Cuervo & Sauza Hornitos Tequila Tasting from 5-9 p.m.

Patterson Park Patio Bar (2205 Patterson Street) will be celebrating National Tequila Day (Sunday, July 24) in style with a Patrón takeover. From 2 pm to 4 pm, Patrón representatives will be doing specialty Paloma cocktail samplings and will also be giving out miniature replica Patrón tequila bottles on a first-come, first-served basis; the Paloma will also be a featured cocktail all day long at the Patterson Park bar. Additionally, the ever-popular tequila brand will set up a branded step and repeat displaying “I love tequila so much” complete with chairs and a flower arrangement tailor-made for taking photos and sharing them on social media platforms in celebration of a Sunday Funday for the ages on National Tequila Day.

Rosalie Italian Soul and the Lobby Bar at C. Baldwin are celebrating National Tequila Day with some refreshing libations. The specialty cocktail being featured is the Italian Margarita, a refreshing concoction of Milagro Blanco Tequila, Amaro Nardini, Grand Marnier, and freshly-squeezed lime juice for $10. The Jessica Rabbit, with Cuervo Tradicional Blanco Tequila, Sour Cherry Molasses, Ginger and Lime will be offered half-price, for $7.

Charming Heights favorite, Kin Dee, is shaking things up for National Tequila Day. On July 24th, the restaurant will offer $2 off the Butterfly Thai Margarita (originally $16) featuring a fresh blend of Don Julio silver tequila, Cointreau, lime, and Butterfly Tea infused with lemon grass syrup – sure to satisfy all Margarita Enthusiasts.

Loch Bar, River Oaks District’s elevated seafood tavern, has a multitude of tequila-based cocktails perfect for sipping on National Tequila Day. For a smoky option, try the Oaxacan Old Fashioned ($21) featuring Corralejo reposado tequila, Banhez mezcal, agave, and orange bitters. If you’re looking for something sweet, go with the Piña Verde ($18) featuring Corazon Blanco tequila, Génépy, lime, and pineapple. Visit during happy hour on Sunday, July 24 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. or 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. to try the Piña Verde for $8. Available in the bar area only.
