We all fell in love with his “Did I do that?” character on the hit TV show, Family Matters, but before he landed the surprise role as the lovingly annoying Laura Winslow chasing nerd “Steve Urkel,” Jaleel White was a child actor who almost starred in the Cosby Show. But, Bill Cosby had other plans and the role of “Rudy” went to Keisha Knight Pulliam.

But, as it has proven a million times before, what’s meant for you is for you and God sometimes has other plans.

Acting since the age of three, White quickly stole the show as everyone’s favorite nerd on the Family Matters. He turned what was meant to be a one guest appearance into an iconic starring role.
