Most Texans would argue that Whataburger has some of the best hamburgers in the South, but there are many places out there that have some “big juicies” that can go “pound for pound” with our southern staple favorites. Dig into National Burger Day at Loch Bar, located in the luxurious River Oaks District with their Loch Burger ($19 for lunch/dinner and $13 for happy hour). The burger features prime dry aged angus, white cheddar, bread and butter pickles, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and Churchill sauce. With your choice of a spring salad or hand-cut fries, the Loch Burger is the perfect touch to their mouthwatering menu.

It’s no secret that Chef Aaron Bludorn’s Dry Aged Beef Burger is one of the juiciest in Houston. The restaurant’s expansive menu of French-inspired classics features one of the city’s most decadent burgers comprised of a dry-aged beef patty, redneck cheddar cheese, and dijonnaise nestled between a benne seed bun and served with potato wedges.  

The restaurant also offers Dry-Aged Burger kits ($65), packaged with chef’s instructions and individually portioned accouterments including ground angus beef patties, caramelized onions, house-made redneck cheddar cheese, fresh frisee, scratch-made Dijonnaise, cornichons, and buns. Each burger kit serves four people.

Two hands are required for Chef Paul Qui’s burger pop-up, Johnny Good Burger, located in Downtown’s POST Houston food hall. The restaurant’s menu features four burgers, including the classic All-American ($8) with a 3.2 oz patty, American cheese, onions, pickles, and special sauce on a toasted bun; the Double Double ($10) with two patties, American cheese, onions, pickles, and special sauce on a toasted bun; The Frisco ($9) with caramelized onion jam, American cheese, Swiss cheese, and Frisco sauce on toasted sourdough; and the Beyond Mushroom Swiss ($12) – a vegetarian burger with a house-made mushroom patty. Guests can add a fried egg or bacon to any burger for an additional $2.

The Hilton Americas-Houston buzzy Lobby Bar, located on the first floor of the newly renovated hotel, is featuring Chef Ruffy Sulaiman’s Steakhouse Burger ($21), made with Certified Angus Beef Butcher’s Blend, lettuce, tomato, butter pickles, and choice of Cheddar, Swiss, American or smoked gouda cheese on a brioche bun.

The charming New American restaurant that focuses on from-scratch cooking and seasonal menu changes offers an elevated Brie Burger ($19) as part of its dinner menu.
