Bun B’s Trill Burgers is collaborating with Houston Astros star Alex Bregman’s Wild Sol salsa to introduce the Trill Smash Taco (TST), a new menu item that will be available for a limited time. Launching Sunday, May 5, on Cinco de Mayo, the Trill Smash Taco features Trill Burgers’ crispy beef smashburger patty with American cheese smashed onto a white corn tortilla, topped with citrus slaw, jalapenos, chipotle aioli, Trill taco seasoning and Wild Sol salsa from the two-time World Series champion Astros third baseman.

Served two to an order, the tacos come with a side of Trill Burgers french fries and will be available at Trill Burgers (3607 S. Shepherd Dr.) both in-store and drive-thru. The specialty menu item was created by Trill Burgers chefs Fernando Valladares and Mike Pham.

“Trill Burgers has wanted to introduce a smash taco for a long time, and collaborating with Wild Sol salsa for Cinco de Mayo was the perfect opportunity,” Bun B said. “With a special taco seasoning courtesy of Chef Nando and Alex Bregman’s amazing Wild Sol salsa, this one hits different. We can’t wait for y’all to try it.”

The TST has been in the works since 2023, when the Trill Burgers team joined Good Morning America to introduce their take on the viral sensation smashburger tacos. Valladares and Pham have updated the recipe since then, exploring new flavor profiles to make it a Trill product and finishing it with Bregman’s Wild Sol salsa. It will be available at Trill Burgers in addition to the restaurant’s regular menu.
