With the summer coming to an end, we wanted to share some details about a few restaurants that are opening in the fall. Check out these restaurants and savor the flavor!

Comalito

Underbelly Hospitality is partnering with internationally acclaimed chef Luis Robledo Richards to debut Comalito, a taqueria inspired by the vibrant flavors of Mexico’s capital. Comalito will open this fall in the Houston Farmers Market with a menu that spans tacos al pastor, tacos de parrilla, or grilled tacos, and fresh, vibrant salsas. Several vegan and vegetarian options will be available in the form of tacos de hongos al pastor (mushrooms as pastor), quesadillas de flor de calabaza (zucchini flower) and ensalada de nopales con quelites (cactus and purslane salad). Comalito’s in-house tortilla program will spotlight organic heirloom corn sourced from Central Mexico.

In addition to its Mexico City-inspired tacos, Comalito will also offer a unique mezcal, tequila and cocktail program that complements the food menu. Upon opening, lunch and dinner service will be available and will eventually expand into brunch and breakfast, featuring tacos and an assortment of traditional Mexican pastries.

Houston will soon have its first upscale Persian restaurant when nationally acclaimed Rumi’s Kitchen makes its debut this October in the new mixed-use development on Post Oak Blvd (located at 1801 Post Oak Blvd, Suite 120) anchored by Zadok Jewelers and Uchiko. Known for its elevated takes on traditional Persian cuisine with Middle Eastern influences alongside steaming jeweled rices, a Persian themed cocktail program, and world-class wine list, Rumi’s Kitchen will mark its fifth U.S. location and join its other outposts in Atlanta and Washington D.C. Underbelly Burger

Underbelly Burger, the classic burger joint conceived to honor Underbelly Hospitality’s “whole animal” philosophy, will open its doors this October at 1222 Witte Road in Spring Branch. Known for its melt-in-your-mouth burgers, Underbelly Burger’s menu will include the 44 Farms Angus Burger, R-C Ranch Wagyu Burger and Housemade Veggie Burger, in addition to the Chicken Sandwich, Milkshakes and Sidewinder Fries seasoned with tangy ranch powder. This will be the second location for Underbelly Burger.

Wild Oats

Underbelly Hospitality’s Texas-inspired concept, Wild Oats will open next to Underbelly Burger this October at 1222 Witte Road in Spring Branch. Diners will see familiar menu items like the Haven Style Shrimp Corn Dogs, Pepper Jelly, Wagyu Chicken Fried Steak, Shrimp and Grits and Wood-Grilled Chicken in addition to the Ranch Water, Paloma and Tommy’s Margarita. This family-friendly restaurant is the perfect place to share a quintessentially Texan meal.
