Stop tarnishing Tina Turner’s name with recent crack cocaine arrest of Ike Jr. Let her rest in peace!
Ike Turner Jr., son of legendary and controversial musician Ike Turner, was arrested last month in Alvin, Texas and news of his arrest is sweeping the feeds. We just have one problem with the headlines we need to get straight.
Yes, Tina Turner is Ike Jr.’s stepmother, raising him from the age of 2, but we feel it is an unnecessary reach to connect her name in headlines linked to his recent drug arrest. The media should show more respect, especially since so many of us are still mourning the loss of our iconic she-ro.
The headlines are not focusing on his father or biological mother, they are zeroing in on Tina.

For those of you who want to follow along, both Ike and Tina had their own children before the two of them got together and only share one biological son.
Ike Sr. was first married to Lorraine Taylor. Their children are Ike Jr. and Michael.
Anna Mae Bullock had a child with Raymond Hill, who was a former member of Ike Sr.’s “Kings of Rhythm” band. Their son is Craig Hill.
Ike Sr. then married Anna Mae, changed her name to “Tina Turner” and the two of them had Ronnie.
LET TINA HAVE HER GRACE AND REST IN PEACE!!!!
She was already suffering the terrible loss of both of her biological children who died before her – Craig due to suicide and Ronnie due to cancer – and now, putting her name in a headline mentioning “crack cocaine possession” is straight up disrespectful!
Technically, the headlines should say “Ike Turner Jr. arrested.” Wouldn’t we still know who he is?
We PROMISE YOU, we are NOT DENYING he was as much a son to her as her biological children, but any attempt at trying to tarnish this Black Queen’s legacy…intentional or not….is just a bit much, that is all we can say.
As for Ike Jr., we know you are mourning and we are praying for you. Lean on your angels in Heaven to guide you. Your family is watching over you with love.
