Houston’s first creperie, Coco Crepes & Coffee, has opened its ninth location. Located at 3303 Richmond Ave., formerly home to the Velvet Melvin Pubthe family-friendly cafe and coffee shop from Bella Restaurants Group will celebrate its Grand Opening on July 24 with giveaways including crepes, 100 days of free coffee and more.

The new Coco location seats approximately 99 guests in a 2,650-square-foot space, with an 400-square-foot outdoor patio that faces Richmond Avenue. The airy, inviting design was a collaboration between Bella Restaurants Group CEO Youssef Nafaa and Amy Vonderau. Nafaa also acted as general contractor for the new location, personally installing the state-of-the-art crepe station and new electrical. Nafaa also captured the photos used in the decor.

“We are so excited to open the ninth Houston-area location of Coco Crepes & Coffee,” Nafaa said. “Since we opened Houston’s first creperie in 2004, we have been focused on providing high-quality dishes in a family-friendly environment, and adding a location in the Upper Kirby area was the perfect fit.”

The new location features an entire wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, bright greenery and a vibrant yellow neon sign that reads “oh crepe that’s good.” Signature sweet and savory crepes include the S’Mores (marshmallows, graham cracker crumbs, chocolate chips, chocolate sauce); La Galette (roasted vegetables, oven-roasted tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms, spinach, cheddar cheese, roasted red pepper pesto sauce); and Nafaa’s personal favorite, White Chocolate Raspberry (raspberry compote, bananas, white chocolate mousse). Coco Crepes & Coffee also features a full coffee bar with several different espressos, specialty coffee beverages and Cococcinos (iced coffee drinks prepared with house gelato), as well as smoothies, soups, salads and sandwiches.

About Coco Crepes & Coffee

Houston’s original creperie, Coco Crepes & Coffee opened its first location in Midtown in 2004. Since then, it has expanded to nine locations in the Houston area, two owned by the corporation and seven owned by franchisees. CEO Youssef Nafaa, a Morocco native, was inspired to open Coco Crepes & Coffee because of his children’s love for crepes, and he has stayed true to those family roots throughout his career.
