First we complain that this newer generation is not focused or serious or committed to anything, now it seems that when they are committed – at least to each other – that is a problem.

What am I talking about? The latest “mind yo’ bizness” post that is breaking the internet.

“Stranger Things” star, Millie Bobby Brown, may have possibly announced her engagement to Jake Bongiovi, the 20-year-old son of legendary rocker Jon Bon Jovi, and that has set the internet on fire.

“I’ve loved you three summers now, honey, I want ’em all ????” milliebobbybrown posted on Instagram.

That post garnered more than 10 million likes and nearly 80,000 comments, as of this writing, with some saying that she is too young, while others are coming to her defense and saying, “stop hating!”

“congrats little sis ????❤️,” Sam McClain @mrsamclaflin said.

Celebrity influencer and new mom Paris Hilton also sent out well wishes with a “Congratulations beautiful!????❤️❤️❤️” post.

Some people sounded off, with comments like “too young,” or “I give it 5 years max,” which prompted thousands of replies and debates on when a person should or should not tie the knot.

“I don’t agree with people saying that Millie is too young to get married. My cousin has married at 19 and is now 24 and happily married – same thing with my Grandma and older family relatives. People shouldn’t dictate what age to marry at as long as you are older than 18. My mom was married at 21 and had me at 22 so I really don’t see why people think it’s young. Sorry, but just some people want a family and think of commitment and I respect that. I don’t think people should insert their not needed opinions).” – lizam_ccarthy said.

“Why are you guys hating? She’s an adult who is perfectly capable of making her own decisions. We got to see her as a child, BUT she is no longer a child. And 19 isn’t too young for engagement anyway. She didn’t say when the wedding will be either. Just be happy for her! Love is an amazing thing and she just happened to find hers early. Congratulations!!!!: – kaitlinolivia97 said.

To which another commenter, hi_yugie, replied, “yeah she is an adult who is able to produce many kids nice ???????????? happy marriage life. You fucking dumb or what ??? Don’t you see that 19 is way too young ? Or just being cool woke person and defending a celebrity coz ur a fan?”

Statistics show that marrying at a young age has been on the decline.

Today, 30 percent of young adults ages 18-34 are married, but 40 years ago, in 1978, 59 percent of young adults were married, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey.

Aside from the stats and the fact that no representatives from the stars have officially confirmed the engagement, it seems that some people are not ready to see one of their favorite child stars, “Eleven,” tie the knot.

Regardless of how they feel, it looks like the young couple is basking in their “happily ever after” for now – and in our opinion, we say – go for it!
