I’m guilty and am very ashamed to admit that I, too, laughed at the viral videos of self-proclaimed “King of R&B” Bobby Brown struggling to keep up with fellow “New Edition” group members as they tour across the country. But it’s not funny, and he’s doing a hell of a lot better than I would be doing at this time – and many of you.
The initial laugh was not because he was “struggling,” it was the voice overs that were placed over the performances of him wheezing, out of breath and looking confused as he tries to execute the choreographed dance moves alongside Ralph Tresvant, Michael Bivins, Johnny Gill, Ricky Bell and Ronnie Devoe, who – by the way – must be drinking from the Dick Clark “fountain of youth” because he appears to have not aged since he was a teenager.

We all may need to check ourselves at the door and give the brother some applause for hanging in there and push him to keep on going.
Some beloved Whitney Houston fans say there should be no mercy shown for Brown, as they blame him partially for the demise of his ex-wife, and there are others who say that “karma is a B” because of the way he arrogantly treated his NE crew when he was part of the group, and continuing to wreak havoc after going solo.
But that is none of our business and we need to focus on the positive imagery of the Black man who is on a mission to continue doing what he loves – performing! I was also heartbroken to see multiple videos of JoJo, from R&B 90’s supergroup Jodeci, as he tries to perform aside his brother K-Ci, who lovingly encourages his brother to leave the stage for breaks. It is somewhat hard to watch as JoJo is still trying to recover from past strokes but wants to perform for the crowds.

Yes its sad that no matter what you do , us as imperfect humans who have skeletons and weaknesses that only we and God know about seem to only see the weaknesses of others as a outlet to tear someone down and weaken them in their apparent weaken state! Look in the mirror and not at Bobby who is strong enough to show his weaknesses to the world he doesn’t need criticism he needs understanding and acceptance!

You could tell the Guys created routines that were considerate if Bobby’s physicality.
I was impressed and Mt cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so hard! Not from laughing at his struggles but from laughing and smiling at his perseverance and obvious joy and determination!!
