Growing up is inevitable and watching your kids become young adults can be uncomfortable and overwhelming for many people, especially when it pertains to sex.

Everyone has a sexual awakening at some point, and child celebrities can find it difficult to make the transition from cute kid to grown and sexy adult.

Some child stars like Meagan Good and KeKe Palmer find it easier to transition than others.

That’s why it’s hard to understand why singer and actress Chloe Bailey is having such a hard time with her fans accepting the fact that she is taking on more risque roles to expand her career.

In the recent film “Swarm,” Bailey has an explicit sex scene with “Snowfall” actor Damson Idris. Bailey immediately caught backlash for displaying her cheeks for the world, but many actresses make their name by playing such roles.

At 24 years old, Bailey is handling herself like the other young ladies in her industry.

As we get older and become prudes, it’s easy to forget that characters in some of our favorite movies were played by women in their 20s.

Pam Grier was 24 when she played the sexy femme fatale role of “Coffy,”  Jada Pinkett was 23 when she starred in “Jason’s Lyric,” Regina King was 22 in “Poetic Justice” and Nia Long was 25 in “Love Jones.” All of these roles called for full nudity and each woman went on to have long successful careers, with King securing an Oscar in 2019 for the film, “If Beale Street Could Talk.”

Clearly, Bailey, whose first role was playing a young Beyonce in “Fighting Temptations” at the age of three, is playing the long game by choosing roles that will make her a contender in Hollywood.

It’s also important to mention that, not only is the cast of Swarm a group of 20-somethings, but the co-writer of the episode is nonother than Malia Obama, who is also 24.

If our favorite first daughter is writing about the experiences that her generation is having, then we as a society need to relax.

Bailey defended her choice to portray the character and thanked her co-star for making the on-screen scene so comfortable.

“I haven’t had that many partners, I’m not like that, that sexual and open. Damson made it very comfortable…kudos to him as a man for making me as a woman feel comfortable literally being raw and naked,” she said.
