Many people are shaking their heads in shame after two of Houston’s most beloved hip hop figures, Trae Tha Truth and Z-Ro, were embroiled in an altercation, which was captured on video and has since gone viral across social media.

The men, who are actually cousins, have been distant from each other for nearly a decade for an issue that both are not exactly calling a “beef,” but more so a parting of ways.

Well, whatever has been going on came to a head at an event wrapping up Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson’s “Tycoon Weekend” in Houston, which was supposed to bring everyone together in a good way.

Video circulating on social media shows the tail-end of a fight, in which Z-Ro, also known as “The Mo City Don,” says he was blindsided and jumped.

The video shows Z-Ro in fetal position as a man looms over him, punching him. After the man is pulled back and Z-Ro stands to his feet and raises his fists to defend himself, several other men – including Tra Tha Truth – turn and began yelling at Z-Ro while police intervene.

He spoke to TMZ about the issue.

Z-Ro says he was minding his business when Trae asked him to take a walk with him. That is when, according to Z-Ro, someone threw a punch his way.

“I don’t live my life like that, I have too much positive shit going on and I obviously didn’t expect no shit like that,” Z-Ro said.

Trae said all is not as it seems and called the issue “family business.” The philanthropist, known for his good deeds and big heart, posted a video message to Instagram remarking about the situation.

“I am going to address this one time and one time only. I feel that I am at a point in my life when I am not going to sit here and let stuff linger around,” he said in the video. “The situation they are trying to paint, the narrative they are painting, that shit is false.”

Trae said the next day, he and Z-Ro had a two-hour conversation that probably “needed to be had.”

“I’m a man. I’m human. Sometimes we do things out of emotion that may mess us up sometimes,” Trae said. “This is internal stuff man. Our whole family always fight, it is different now because it’s always cameras, it’s always social media and people with opinions.”

He added that, for those who really rock with him, he apologizes if they feel he let them down.

Well, we hope these cousins can finally mend fences and get back to doing great things together. We all love them both.
