Former Shark Tank star Barbara Corcoran released an apology video on social media after an insensitive comment about Whoopi Goldberg’s pants size in an episode of The View.

The cast was raving about Emma Grede, the founder and CEO of the denim brand Good American, who is also set to be Shark Tank‘s first Black woman guest shark. Goldberg jokingly says “Well I have to try them, will they fit this COVID [butt]?”

While the cast laughs, Corcoran jumps in with “When you get finished with those jeans, and decide you don’t like them, give them to me. I’m gonna make two pairs.”

Co-host Ana Navarro didn’t hesitate to defend Goldberg and shot back with “Let me just tell you something. Both Sarah Haines and Jill Biden wore that dress already on TV.”

It didn’t take long for Corcoran to issue an apology after being slammed on the internet.

“I just came back from The View and saw my old friend Whoopi. She has a phenomenal sense of humor, and I’ve known Whoopi for years. I made a joke at Whoopi’s expense, which I now realize wasn’t funny. For anyone who I may have offended unintentionally, I just wanted to say I really am very sorry.”

Friends joke about each other all the time, but there’s a difference between joking in private and making a joke at someone’s expense on national television.
