Tracina Morris is one of the most professional and committed realtors in the Houston area. A woman of many talents, she says her greatest pleasure is to help others.

Bayou Beat News got the opportunity to speak with this Houston realtor to share her journey and advice for other entrepreneurs.

Bayou Beat News: What made you venture into the real estate business when you already had an established tax business?

Morris: Originally, I wanted to be a realtor in 2007 which is when I went to school for real estate and took the test. When I didn’t pass the test, I ended up opening my tax office and pursuing taxes. However, my initial love was always real estate.

Bayou Beat News: What’s the thing you love most about being a realtor?

Morris: Honestly it’s the people. I just love helping families and seeing the smiles on their faces knowing that they are entering into the world of homeownership. Helping them achieve where they think they couldn’t before is what I love most.

Bayou Beat News: What’s your intel on the recent spike in the market?

Morris: Reports and statistics have shown that this market is one of the craziest that we have ever seen thus far in the world of real estate. It’s kind of bananas right now. It’s really a sellers market. Homes are priced at an all-time high. I would say it’s definitely time to sell if you’re looking to sell your home. Interest rates are low but they are rising. You probably want to go ahead and secure a loan if you are interested before interest rates get higher. It would be a good time to invest if you were to do it right now. We don’t really know what next year will look like.

Bayou Beat News: What is the biggest challenge you faced while being a realtor?

Morris: For me it’s been balance. I own a tax office, work with a nonprofit, I have a son, I take care of my mother and I’m a realtor, so my schedule is always busy. Balancing it all has been my major challenge thus far.

Bayou Beat News: What has been your biggest success?

Morris: I’m hitting record numbers. Every year I set a goal and I’m surpassing that goal. The goals I set are at the beginning of the first half of the year and then another at the beginning of the second half of the year. My biggest success with real estate is that I’m really hitting numbers that most people who have been a realtor for four years have not necessarily hit easily. I wouldn’t say it was easy for me but it’s definitely been a great time for me right now with real estate.

Bayou Beat News: What advice do you have for other entrepreneurs balancing multiple businesses?

Morris: My advice would be one of my favorite sayings nowadays: “When you aim at everything, you hit nothing.” What I had to learn was it’s cool to have multiple sources of income and a variety of businesses but it’s important to master one business at a time. I had a driving school before I became a realtor. I started the real estate journey in 2007 and opened by tax office then as well. However, I turned around and opened a drivers-ed school in 2014. Then I totally pursued real estate because I became a realtor in 2014. It’s important to focus and really master the craft of one thing at a time before moving on.

Bayou Beat News: What are some of your goals with your business?

Morris: One of my major goals is to become a broker. That’s my next challenge with this real estate world. I also want to house my own realtors.

Bayou Beat News: What can your followers expect from you in the future?

Morris: I created a credit repair book for clients that’s out right now. I want everyone

to experience ownership and I know it doesn’t seem attainable for everyone, but I want it to be. My goal is to reach as many people as I can. Many people have credit issues and of course to buy a home, you have to start with good credit. I created the book Simple Credit Repair to help others.
