HOUSTON – Boasting over 25 years of experience and a deep understanding of Houston’s refined taste, local gallery owner and art dealer, Laura Rathe, is expanding her presence to River Oaks District. This marks Rathe’s third Texas location that will house a specially curated collection of large format art, contemporary sculpture and exhibitions.

Rathe’s new art gallery is located in the District’s central courtyard home to French-eatery Toulouse, and surrounding luxury retailers including Hermes, Cartier and Dior.

“I chose River Oaks District as the location for my second location because of the District’s walkability, aesthetic and caliber of fellow retailers,” Rathe said. “My clientele frequents the District, and the space is the perfect backdrop for my vision for this gallery’s focus. I am looking forward to being a part of their growing community and feel confident that this will resonate with Houston.”

The exhibition series begins with Dreamers, presenting pieces inspired by masters of the subconscious realm who channel their dreams into artistic interpretation. On display through November 15, the collection houses highly sought-after work from contemporary visionaries including Zhuang Hong Yi, Sydney Yeager and Hunt Slonem.

Rathe feels with the current state of affairs, the world is becoming increasingly polarized, wherein differences do not set us apart, but instead make us incompatible. By sharing the space in this artistic dreamland, we find commonality.

In Dreamers, the subconscious mind is celebrated as a catalyst for change, uniting us not only externally with others, but helping us internally become whole.

Dreamers will be on display through Novermber 15. The exhibit will be open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. 6 p.m.

The gallery will also host a series of open house events on Saturday, October 10 and Sunday, October 11.
