It’s a brave new world and no one is safe from the hordes of social media trolls; not even the Girl Scouts of America.

The Girl Scouts are being slammed across social media for posting a congratulatory message in support of Amy Coney Barrett.

“Congratulations Amy Coney Barrett on becoming the 5th woman appointed to the Supreme Court since its inception in 1789,” the post read.

And then came the backlash!!

Following the post, Girl Scout supporters were outraged that the 108-year-old organization would include political messaging on its social media.

One Twitter user wrote, “I was a GS for years. I didn’t see your tweet but it’s a pathetic joke to equate all these women in SCOTUS. Four were pioneers. One is a handmaid. That isn’t the Girl Scout way. Time to find a new source of cookies.”

The Girl Scouts quickly went into action by issuing a statement via Twitter.

“Girl Scouts of the USA is a nonpolitical, nonpartisan organization. We are neither red nor blue, but Girl Scout GREEN. We are here to lift up girls and women,” the statement read.

But that message wasn’t enough to stop the cancel culture vultures from verbally beating the ‘Thin Mints’ out of the Girl Scouts, leading the organization to post another message that read, “Earlier today, we shared a post highlighting the five women who have been appointed to the Supreme Court. It was quickly viewed as a political and partisan statement which was not our intent and we have removed the post.”

The original post was also deleted, which led one Twitter user to comment that the deletion of the post was only a mere gesture and not enough.

“So you removed it—that’s a start. Now apologize for congratulating a woman who has made a lifetime of suppressing everything Girl Scouts stand for. GS taught us that our voices matter, and we have the right to self-determination,” the commenter posted.

As the Twitter mafia started to disburse, the Girl Scouts were then berated by a legion of upset Coney Barrett supporters.

“You spineless weasels. You’re supposed to empower and represent strong women and girls…and you caved into a Twitter mob of perpetually unhappy miserable leftists? Watch me never buy a box of your overpriced, dry ass cookies again,” an angry user wrote.

Welp, there you have it, folks! Just when you thought the 2020 election couldn’t get any worse, now our delicious Samoas and Lemonades may be in jeopardy because of the tense political climate.
