North Houston’s City Place is sailing into the summer with a stacked season of mostly complimentary offerings from June through August. Ranging from trivia and movie nights to fitness classes and evening bike rides, the fun starts on and around the best-in-class community’s central Plaza at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive – Spring, TX 77389.

Summer is made for strolling, and you’d be hard pressed to find a more walkable locale than City Place’s urban core, framed by waterfront City Place Park. The Plaza will play host to series of family-friendly Sunday Strolls this summer, complete with live music, snow cones — of course — and lawn games. Series dates are June 5, June 19, July 3, July 17, July 31, August 14 and August 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each evening.

Are you the reigning Jeopardy champion in your group or household? If you are, you won’t want to miss City Place’s Summer Trivia Nights, where you can show everyone just how smart you are. You’ll have seven opportunities to shine this summer with themes that run the gamut from Parks and Rec, ‘80s and ‘90s music to Disney. Get ready to rumble June 7, June 23, July 12, July 26, August 2, August 16 and August 30 starting at 7 pm. There will be prizes for first, second and third places.

Fans of live music are in for a treat at Friday Night Live! Look for six editions of the popular, alfresco music showcase, including June 10, June 24, July 8, July 22, August 5 and August 19 – all from 6 to 9 pm. In addition to spotlighting a variety of genres – check the City Place calendar for updated listings –there will be plenty of lawn games too.

City Place Bike Club’s group pedals make the most of the evening – and morning with 7 pm golden hour rides happening on June 14, July 12 and August 9, and 9 am offerings on June 25, July 23 and August 27. Led by Bike Texas, these all ages, leisurely paced excursions of approximately one hour, depart from the Star Cinema Grill parking lot directly across from The Mark off City Plaza Drive. What do the PJ Masks crew, Captain America, Captain Marvel and Princess Jasmine all have in common? Well, they’re all going to be guests of Children’s Storytime at City Place this summer. And whether it involves a magical carpet ride, crime-fighting tykes, or an epic fight with evil villains, there’s going to be a Marvel Cinematic Universe-size amount of excitement at each iteration, which all take place on Fridays at 6 pm. The themes are PJ Masks on June 17, Captain America and Captain Marvel on July 15, and Princess Jasmine on August 12.

If you’re looking for a treat perfect for the whole family this summer, you should consider bringing out the gang for the three blockbuster iterations of Family Movie Night happening on select Fridays, starting at . The picks this summer are Mean Girls on June 17, The Sandlot on July 15 and Mama Mia! on August 12. And although she might try to make you believe otherwise, we’re pretty sure reigning mean girl Regina George would think those movie selections are so fetch. The show starts each night at sunset, providing plenty of time to pick up to go goodies for every taste at City Place restaurants steps from the screening, including Island Grill, Common Bond Bistro & Bakery, Sushi Rebel, SwithHouse Plates & Pours, Bread Zeppelin, Starbucks and Chipotle.

If you’re looking to get your body in island vacation shape, you might want to take advantage of Fitness on the Plaza. Camp Gladiator takes place every Monday at 5:15 pm, every Wednesday at 5:15 and 6:30 pm, and every Saturday at 8:30 am, showcasing uber-popular hour-long cardio and strength-training classes. If you’re a new parent in search of a workout, then roll your stroller over to The Plaza for Fit4Mom Stroller Barre every Wednesday at 9:30 am to work on your strength and flexibility. The Plaza also plays host to one-hour combined yoga and meditation class every Saturday at 10 am perfect for those looking to heat up their crown chakra this season. Both Camp Gladiator and Fit4Mom Stroller Barre offer a complimentary first session and ongoing packages for those that choose to stay the course, while the Saturday yoga/mediation sessions are always free. Additionally, on Tuesday, June 21, City Place fitness fans will have the opportunity to participate in a 45-minute Summer Equinox Yoga session with Kristin Hart, complete with DJ music and a whole vibe.
