The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) said it recovered more than $2.9 billion from False Claims Act (FCA) settlements and judgments in 2024. Among the highest in recent years, this figure was supported by a record 979 qui tam lawsuits filed by whistleblowers.

The narrative of Biden’s presidency offers a story of significant reform and attempts to amend past wrongs. His administration has heralded a historic economic recovery that particularly benefitted Black workers, achieving the lowest Black unemployment rate and the smallest gap between Black and White unemployment on record.

The record-breaking figure represents nearly doubling enrollment since President Joe Biden took office. Over 45 million Americans are covered through the ACA’s Marketplace and Medicaid expansion, marking an all-time high in health insurance coverage in U.S. history.

The DOJ stated that Attorney General Merrick Garland intends to release volume one of the report, which focuses on Trump’s alleged election interference, to Congress in the interest of transparency and accountability. However, volume two, which pertains to Trump’s co-defendants Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, will remain under restricted review to protect ongoing legal proceedings.

The White House explained in a release that the action would remove $49 billion in unpaid medical bills, benefiting 15 million Americans by raising credit scores and improving access to home loans, cars, and small businesses.
