Enrollment rebounds for Black students at Harvard University

Black student enrollment at Harvard Law School has rebounded. The incoming J.D. Class of 2028 includes 46 Black students, nearly returning to the averages seen between 2020 and 2023. That recovery comes only one year after the number collapsed to 19, the lowest since the 1960s.

A question of lynching in Mississippi

The autopsy for Trey Reed is underway. The 21-year-old Delta State University student was found dead hanging from a tree on the campus. Compounding the issue, another man, 36-year-old Corey Zukatis, was found hanging from a tree in a wooded area in Vicksburg, Mississippi, near a casino. Both cases are under investigation.

Published in 2025, the playbook arrives at a critical moment, with Black communities confronting deep disparities in wealth, health, education, and criminal justice.
