Looking for things to do in Houston this January? City Place offers free fitness, family events, and interactive art installations all month long.

North Houston’s City Place is starting the new year with a January calendar packed with wellness, creativity, and family-centered activities — all set around The Plaza, the vibrant outdoor heart of the community. The destination is inviting visitors of all ages to kick off 2026 with energy and imagination through complimentary fitness classes, interactive art installations, youth sports, and playful weekend programming.
Every Saturday, guests can get moving with free Band Sculpt and yoga classes designed to strengthen, stretch, and inspire new wellness goals. Families will also find exciting ways to stay active and entertained throughout the month, including youth soccer sessions with Soccer Shots, a mobile gaming experience, puppet and magic shows, and a special Pilates and floral-arranging workshop.
January also marks the final opportunity to enjoy two beloved seasonal attractions — the whimsical Giant Gingerbread Village and festive Roaming Elves, both available daily through January 11. In addition, visitors can explore VOUW, a pop-up art installation making its U.S. debut with three interactive works that blend movement, light, technology, and creativity.
