As the fall season wrapped across the Houston area, Sister 2 Sistah joined the National Partnership for New Americans’ Naturalize Now! Houston citizenship campaign with one clear goal: to make sure no community was left behind. From Hispanic families to Houston’s African diaspora—and every culture in between—the organization took information directly into neighborhoods where families already gather, offering guidance in places that feel familiar, safe, and welcoming.

Instead of asking residents to search for workshops or navigate government websites alone, S2S set up citizenship information booths at multiple community events, turning trunk-or-treats, school festivals, and a college fair into opportunities for families to get answers, ask questions, and recognize that naturalization may be closer than they realized.

S2S Community Navigator Eiesha Stamps feels access begins with understanding:

“Information changes everything. When people finally hear the process explained in a way that makes sense, the fear starts to fade,” Stamps explained. “Sharing these resources isn’t about paperwork—it’s about helping families feel secure, supported, and seen. No one should miss out on that simply because the information never reached their community.”
