From child star to soulful sensation, Coco Jones opens a new chapter in her music career — and fans are here for it.
Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Coco Jones is turning up the heat this spring with the release of her highly anticipated debut album Why Not More?, set to drop Friday, April 25. The project marks a major milestone in her career, following a journey filled with early promise, setbacks, and an undeniable comeback.
Coco, now 26, first rose to fame as a Disney Channel star but quickly found herself navigating the music industry’s tough terrain. After being dropped from a label early in her career, she reemerged years later with her 2022 EP What I Didn’t Tell You, led by the sultry hit “ICU,” which earned her the 2024 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance.
Now signed to Def Jam, Jones says this debut album is a “testament to growth, resilience, and finally taking up space” in an industry that once tried to box her in.
“I spent a lot of time asking why not me,” Jones recently told Glamour. “Now, I’m asking why not more?”
The album promises a mix of smooth R&B vocals, personal storytelling, and genre-blending sounds. She’s also staying booked and busy, starring in Peacock’s Bel-Air and filming new projects for both screen and stage.
Fans who’ve followed her since her Disney days are ready. DJs are already spinning her latest single “Here We Go Again,” and social media is buzzing with support from Black women nationwide who see her as a voice of beauty, vulnerability, and perseverance.
Jones’ star is clearly rising — and Why Not More? may be the answer we’ve all been waiting for.
