Houston was the place to be this past weekend as a powerful group of Black women came together for a day filled with inspiration, sisterhood, and empowerment at BET’s We Got You Sis event. The energy was electric as attendees uplifted and poured into one another, proving once again that when Black women unite, something truly magical happens.

Hosted by Houston’s own LeToya Luckett, this uplifting experience brought together powerhouse voices like Kayla Nicole, Kendra G, Jodie Taylor, Tay Powers, Dr. Lynn Richardson, and more. Co-produced by Valeisha Butterfield and A SEED PRODUCTION, the event focused on sisterhood, wellness, and Black joy, giving attendees an unforgettable day filled with inspiring fireside chats, networking, and professional coaching.

Reclaiming Our Joy & Celebrating Sisterhood

The day kicked off with a fireside chat titled “Reclaiming Our Joy,” diving into the power of self-love and personal wellness. Attendees were blessed with gems from industry experts and cast members of Tyler Perry’s SISTAS, who shared insights on navigating career success, financial wellness, and personal growth.

Sisters Network Inc., the nation’s largest and leading Black breast cancer survivorship organization, served as a proud community partner for the event. Founder Karen E. Jackson took the stage to speak about the importance of breast health and early detection, ensuring that every woman in the room left with knowledge that could potentially save lives. Her powerful words reinforced the necessity of self-advocacy in health and wellness—because true empowerment starts from the inside out.

Adding even more star power to the event, the cast of SISTAS—including KJ Smith, Angie Beyince, and Skyh Black—joined the conversation, keeping it real about sisterhood, empowerment, and the themes that make the show so relatable.
