Diddy sues NBC for $100M over Kim Porter documentary

Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed a $100 million defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal, alleging the network is engaged in a “malicious smear campaign” through an upcoming documentary about the death of Kim Porter.
According to court documents, Combs claims NBC is pushing a false narrative that implicates him in Porter’s 2018 passing, despite her death being ruled as natural due to pneumonia. The lawsuit argues that the documentary is designed to exploit conspiracy theories and damage his already embattled reputation for financial gain.
Porter, a model and actress, shared four children with Combs and had an on-again, off-again relationship with him for over a decade. Since her passing, speculation surrounding her death has persisted online, though no criminal allegations were ever filed. Combs’ legal team insists that NBC’s decision to produce and promote this documentary is “reckless and defamatory,” further intensifying the media scrutiny he has faced in recent months.
NBC has yet to officially respond to the lawsuit, though sources within the network suggest the documentary is still set for release. If aired, it could further escalate Combs’ battle in the court of public opinion as he fights his legal battles both in the press and in the courtroom.
With his reputation, freedom, and fortune at stake, the lawsuit against NBC may be just one of many legal fights ahead for the embattled hip-hop mogul.
