The world of hip-hop was shaken recently as Georgia-based rapper 24lefteye found himself at the center of a deeply personal and public crisis. Following the leak of explicit images and messages allegedly exposing a homosexual relationship, the “Whole Lotta Red” singer was seen preparing to jump off a bridge over a freeway in downtown Atlanta.

Authorities intervened, shutting down traffic for two hours to negotiate with him, leading to him being rushed to the hospital and admitted under a psychiatric hold.

According to a thread on social media 24lefteye was outed by his former sexual partner after the two were involved in a heated argument. Explicit text messages and photos of 24Lefteye in a compromising position with a large dildo quickly went viral leading to his expulsion from his affiliated gang 5L Bloods and rap group “Henxhmen Gang or 5L

Henxhmen Gang or 5L is a set of bloods that formed in Zone 6 of Edgewood in East Atlanta, most notably Mayson Ave and Frontstreet. They are considered the city’s most hated gang due to their feuds with other gangs, leaving them with little to no allies.

Benji Blue Bills, a member of the group, publicly addressed the situation on social media, stating, “Membership REVOKED.”

This incident underscores the significant impact among Black communities where discussions about sexuality may be stigmatized. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and the need for supportive environments, especially when individuals face public scrutiny and personal challenges.
