Nearly a year after the tragic loss of his eldest son, Brandon, in January 2023, Smiley discovered that he is the biological father of 5-year-old identical twin daughters.

He recounted receiving a call from an ex-girlfriend in January 2024, informing him that, following a court case, it was determined he is the twins’ father. Remarkably, Smiley had known the girls their entire lives, as they had attended family gatherings and playdates, yet he was unaware of their true relationship.

The timing of this revelation was particularly poignant for Smiley, who was still mourning the loss of his son. He described the moment as a turning point, saying, “When I tell you, that’s the first time I saw the sun again during that dark hour. The sun came back out.”
