Rumi’s Kitchen, Houston’s celebrated dining destination known for its refined and elevated Persian cuisine, is set to launch a much-anticipated brunch menu on Saturday,November 16, 2024. Located in the heart of Uptown at 1801 Post Oak Blvd., Rumi’s Kitchen has quickly become a local favorite since it opened in October 2023. Known for its stunning ambiance, exceptional service, and inventive dishes, the restaurant—founded by celebrated chef Ali Mesghali—is now offering a new brunch experience.

Served every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., the new brunch menu is an opportunity for locals and Houston’s diverse international crowd to indulge in Rumi’s Kitchen’s signature Persian flavors during the weekend. The restaurant’s regular menu will also continue to be available for those seeking their favorite dishes.

The brunch blends traditional and contemporary items, reflecting the restaurant’s unique approach to Persian cuisine. Highlights from the Breads & Pastries section include the Bread Basket, featuring in-house baked Jerusalem bagels, za’atar biscuits, traditional Persian sangak, fig jam, and butter. Guests can also enjoy the Boreka, two savory lamb merguez sausage pastries served with labneh and pickled beets, or the Sangak Toast topped with clotted cream and honeycomb. For something a bit more unexpected, try the Bunitsa, a filo creation filled with feta and pistachio preserves.

For entrées, the menu offers enticing options such as the Dutch BabyPancake with sour cherry jam, cream, and powdered sugar, or the rich Persian Omelette made with eggs, tomato, and Turkish sujuk sausage. The hearty Zabuton Steak and Eggs features a special cut of American Wagyu Zabuton, paired with potato and shishito hash, and turmeric-fried eggs. Brunch lovers also can explore Persian twists on classic dishes like the Olovieh Toast, a Persian chicken and potato salad served atop brioche, or Za’atar Biscuits and Gravy, featuring spiced drop biscuits and lamb merguez gravy. Vegetarian options include the Shakshuka with tomato, pepper, poached eggs, and cilantro and Turkish Eggs served with labneh, spinach, and chili oil.

Sip on the Naranj Bellini with bubbles and sour orange; Merci 75, made with gin, Persian lime, and sparkling wine; Kish Island Iced Tea, a refreshing blend of vodka, Persian tea, mint, and orange blossom water; Breakfast Martini with vodka and Cointreau; and the rich Iranish Coffee, a bold concoction of Bruichladdich unpeated scotch, nocino, coffee, and cream, finished with a dusting of nutmeg.
