Education and Job Training for Black Men

Harris’s plan also focuses on education and job training. She advocates for apprenticeships and credentialing programs that equip Black men with in-demand skills. These fields include cybersecurity and healthcare. Moreover, Harris proposes removing degree requirements for 500,000 federal jobs. This will open more opportunities for those who may not have pursued higher education.

In addition, Harris seeks to increase the number of Black male teachers. Partnering with HBCUs, her plan includes teacher training programs. This initiative will also offer loan forgiveness to encourage Black men to enter the education field.

Protecting Black Men in the Digital Economy

Harris’s agenda includes protecting Black men who invest in digital assets like cryptocurrency. Over 20% of Black Americans are involved in digital markets. Harris proposes a regulatory framework to prevent fraud and protect these investments.

Health Equity and Debt Relief

Health equity is a key focus of Harris’s plan for Black men. The National Health Equity Initiative targets chronic illnesses that disproportionately affect Black men, such as diabetes and prostate cancer. Harris also proposes capping insulin costs at $35 per month. Additionally, she plans to limit prescription drug expenses to $2,000 annually. Removing medical debt from credit reports is another part of her plan, helping Black men access better financial opportunities.

Criminal Justice Reform and Cannabis Legalization

Harris supports the federal legalization of marijuana. She believes this will help reduce incarceration rates among Black men. Her plan also seeks to create economic opportunities by providing pathways into the legal cannabis industry for Black men.

Affordable Housing and Homeownership for Black Men

Harris’s plan addresses the need for affordable housing. She proposes building three million affordable housing units. Additionally, she will offer up to $25,000 in down payment assistance to Black first-time homebuyers. Harris also aims to tackle racial bias in home appraisals. These efforts will ensure fair property valuations for Black men.

Engaging Black Men in the 2024 Election

To further engage Black men, Harris’s campaign has launched initiatives like “Black Men Huddle Up.” These events will foster discussions about key issues affecting Black communities. They will also promote voter turnout for the 2024 election.

Kamala Harris vs. Trump: A Stark Contrast

Harris’s Black men plan stands in contrast to Donald Trump’s Project 2025. Trump’s agenda seeks to cut education funding and reinstate stop-and-frisk policies. Harris, on the other hand, focuses on empowering Black men through wealth-building, education, and health equity.
