UPDATE: Houston’s heroic rap legend ‘ESG’ candidly reveals what led to leg amputation
Cedric Hill, who goes by the rap name “ESG,” has opened up about what led to the amputation of one of his legs.
The “Swangin and Bangin” original “Screwed Up Click” legend recently asked for prayers following the amputation, which comes as he is still heroically in the midst of a cancer battle.
“Been in ICU since May10th I need all the. Prayers I can get Love y’all,” @Cedric Hill posted on Facebook, while sharing graphic photos of his injured limb.

The loss of his leg, however, has nothing to do with his current health challenges. ESG shared in an interview with the Boss Talk Podcast 101 that he was severely injured after being struck by several cars.
ESG explained that he and fellow Houston rapper, Lil O, were preparing for a performance at the Cliff Club in Dallas when he got some “heartfelt news” that made him upset.

“I got the call before I got to the club, you feel what I am saying, but while I am at the club, I got the news again. So now I am trying to mentally hold this news in without letting my anger out on somebody else,” he told the interviewer from his hospital bed.
He said he was mad and walking when, in his words, “pow.”
“I don’t even know because I was going to my other partner truck, the truck we came in, we were parked on the other end. I don’t even know, damn, that it was a six-lane freeway right there,” he said.
ESG said the car knocked him in the middle of the street and, after that, he was struck by another vehicle.

Commenters and fans flooded the timeline again, sending well wishes, with many sharing the sentiment that “God has a bigger plan for ESG and is not done yet.”
They are encouraging him to keep hanging in there and are praying, yet again, for his speedy recovery.

Footprints in the Sand
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.”
He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”
