While one has been on a legendary mission to “save you money,” the other is now on a mission to “save the streets” and the name they both share is recognized and loved by almost everyone.

That is why it makes perfect sense that the Harris County Precinct 4’s Office has decided to name their newest K9 addition to the team after the owner of Gallery Furniture.

“Jim ‘Mattress Mack’ McIngvale has always believed in God, country, family, and hard work. Precinct 4 is proud to exemplify these values in our K-9 ‘Mattress Mack,'” Constable Mark Herman said.

Deputy  George Henson is a veteran K9 handler who will be partnering with the 4-year-old Belgian Malinois, which is trained in explosive odors to include bombs, firearms and criminal apprehension.

Herman says both are already on the streets helping make Precinct 4 a safer place to live, work and visit. He thanked everyone who recommended the K9 be named after the Houston philanthropist.

K9 “ Mattress Mack “ was generously donated by K9s4Cops. For more information on how to support this organization, please visit www.k9s4cops.org
