Will Smith has opened up even more about what led to the infamous Oscar which was shockingly uncharacteristic of the original “Fresh Prince.”

Smith spoke candidly to “Daily Show” host, Trevor Noah, explaining that he had a lot going on in his private life.

“You just don’t know what’s going on with people,” the 54-year-old Hollywood icon said. “And I was going through something that night. Not that that justifies my behavior at all.”

Smith attacked comedian and Academy Award host Chris Rock at the March 27 ceremony after Rock cracked a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s, bald head.

Jada, 51, lives with hair loss disease alopecia and appeared to be hurt by the jab, which led her husband to walk on stage and slap the taste out of Rock’s mouth.

Backlash of the incident was swift, forcing Smith, who actually won “Best Actor” for “King Richard” that night to resign from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and he was banned from attending Oscar events for a decade.

Smith told Noah that he felt his past caused him to react in that manner.

“It was a lot of things. It was the little boy that watched his father beat up his mother. All of that bubbled up in that moment. You know, just, that’s not who I want to be,” Smith explained. “I was gone. That was a rage that had been bottled for a really long time……Hurt people, hurt people.”
