“Chicken ‘n Waffles Casserole” takes the classic sweet and savory combination and makes it even more of a brunch beauty, adding to the spirit-lifting taste with a bed of fluffy, hearty eggs and an infusion of smoky and syrupy maple flavor. The waffles are as tender as ever, the chicken as crispy as you could imagine, and the result is breakfast that brightens the day more than the sun! Go ahead and get those ingredients together before the weekend, and enjoy this tasty recipe.

Ingredients:

• 10 toasted waffles
• 1 (25-ounce) package frozen breaded chicken
• 8 large eggs
• 3/4 cup milk
• 1/4 cup maple syrup, plus more for drizzling
• 2 tablespoons butter, melted
• kosher salt, to taste

Directions:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2: Place the waffles and the chicken on two large baking sheets.

Step 3: Bake the waffles until golden and crispy, about 15 minutes.

Step 4: Bake the chicken until warmed through and crispy, about 30 minutes.

Step 5: Cut both the waffles and the chicken into large chunks.

Step 6: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, the milk, the maple syrup, and the butter.

Step 7: Season the egg mixture with the salt and the pepper.

Step 8: Reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees F.

Step 9: In a 9×13-inch baking pan, layer the waffle pieces and the chicken pieces.

Step 10: Pour the egg mixture over the chicken and the waffles.

Step 11: Bake until golden and set, about 45 minutes-1 hour.

Step 12: Serve warm with the extra maple syrup.
