Dr. Anthony Fauci, the chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The 81-year-old, who has become the face of the nation in the education and fight against the coronavirus, says  he is fully vaccinated and has received two booster shots.

His positive result came from a rapid test.

Officials said Dr. Fauci is currently experiencing mild symptoms, but will isolate and continue to work from home.

They also pointed out that he has not recently been in close contact with President Biden or other senior government officials.

Earlier this year, Dr. Fauci told another official that the omicron variant would “ultimately find just about everybody.”

We send our “get well soon” wishes to him.
