Global tennis champion and mother Serena Williams will be honored with a building at Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon. For anyone who has followed Williams throughout the decades, she has been regarded as the greatest athlete of all time, and it is only right that her legacy is honored in this monumental way.

The Serena Williams building is currently the largest building at the Nike headquarters, and even includes a 140-seat theater named after her daughter Olympia.

“When I was just a kid, I visited the Nike campus and I saw that athletes get buildings,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “After that visit, I knew I wanted two things: to be a Nike athlete and to have a building. Can you believe it? I have a BUILDING Y’ALL!!! This is CRAZY!!!”

In a press release, Nike shared that the building will be used for the company’s design, merchandising, and insights teams. The building, consisting of three main parts is meant to represent Williams’ greatness and also references the wings of Nike, the Greek goddess of victory.

“The whole building takes your breath away,” Williams shared in the Nike press release. “Every element, everywhere you go, is an opportunity to be inspired. I hope this building encourages people to bring out the best of themselves and to dream bigger than they thought possible.”
