Bomb threats? Is this really how we’re starting the new year? At least seven Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country received bomb threats on Tuesday night.

Howard University, Prairie View A&M University, Norfolk State University, North Carolina Central University, Xavier University, University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, and Florida Memorial University endured up to four hour long evacuations on Tuesday.

According to The Washington Post, there were no explosions or bombs found on the campuses. The schools gave all clear notices to the surrounding communities and allowed students to return to campus early Wednesday morning.

The bomb threats have not yet been determined to be connected or racially motivated by officials. This recent attack on HBCUs has social media, especially graduates and supporters of HBCUs in a frenzy.
