We have to say a special goodbye to legendary gospel singer Lee Williams, who died Monday. Williams was lead singer of the “The Spiritual QC’s,” an award-winning, legendary quartet group originating from Tupelo, Mississippi. He was 75 years old.

Williams is known for such downhome, feel good songs including “Tell The Angels That I’m On My Way,” “Call Him Jesus,” “God’s Got A Blessing,” and “Jesus Will Fix It,” or as some of us call it, “Trouble in My Way.”

Adoring fans flooded social media with praises and tributes to Williams, including KCi Hailey of 90’s group Jodeci.

KCi said Williams was “a true icon” whom he looked up to, and he will be truly missed.

Others say Williams was one of the NICEST & most humble person anyone could have ever met! And that NOBODY could “drive” a song like him!!!

We at Bayou Beat News send our deepest condolences, and are praying for peace and comfort for Williams’ family, friends and fans.

Rest well King.
