Now that the CDC has confirmed that fully vaccinated people could go maskless, people are traveling at record numbers.

This past year has been a challenge. The pressures of being stuck at home led many to want an escape.

According to Travel + Leisure, a travel guide and magazine company based in New York City, the first Sunday of May recorded “More than 1.6 million people passed through U.S. airports.” This is the highest recorded number since before the pandemic and numbers are still rising.

Last week alone, over 1.9 million people were in American airports.

Here are some tips before you decide to fly the friendly skies!

For starters, increased travel has spiked a significant increase in airplane tickets. Now that people are traveling more, airlines have raised the price of flights to where they were pre-Covid-19.

Secondly, there are less restrictions for mask mandates and COVID-19 restrictions are decreasing. This doesn’t mean that everyone is free to go maskless and not social distance. However, those who are vaccinated have more freedom to do so.

Lastly, warm weather is here and summer is just around the corner! More and more states and countries are opening up for outside travel. This means you and your family are able to explore, escape and relax this summer.

As you start to venture back into society please remember to always carry your mask and wear it when you can. After all, the most important thing is your health.
