This month celebrates the LGBTQ+ community’s freedom to be themselves. It is also the chance for allies to support the community. The City of Houston canceled the Pride Parade because of concerns over Covid-19, but there are still many ways to celebrate in Houston. Here are five events to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community in Houston.

Rainbow Pride Pool Party and Talent Showcase

Rated Boujie Magazine is putting on a Pride bash at the Holiday Inn Express NW Houston Beltway 8, located at 3539 N. Sam Houston Parkway West in Houston, on Saturday, June 12. There will be a pool party at the hotel pool and live performances in the banquet hall. The grand finale includes a talent competition.

Karbach Pride Market

Any LGBTQ+ vendors out there? The Karbach Brewery is hosting vendors from Pride Month in its Biergarten. The Pride Market and Biergarten Party is free and open to the public.

Teenchella: NYC Pride Viewing Party

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hosting a watching party for NYC Pride at the Trotter Family YMCA. Come early to participate in pre-watch party activities. Admission is free so don’t miss out!

Kinky Circus: Pride Party

Kinky Collective and Numbers Nightclub are teaming up for Kinky Circus and Artisan Market Pride Party. The event will feature local circus performers, an artist market, and food from local vendors. Only adults 18 and older are allowed entry.

Rocky Horror Pride Party

Southern Star Brewing Company is hosting a Rocky Horror-themed Pride Party. The event is free and open to the public. The brewery announced that it would donate $1 of each pint sold from 7-10 p.m. to Equality Texas, which is an organization that works to secure full equality for LGBT people through political action, education, community organizing, and collaboration.
