Lights. Camera. Sip! “Ready to Love,” the elimination-style dating series featuring an all-Black cast of accomplished men and women, returned for its fourth season last week.

Stars of the show, including party host and Houstonian Alexis ‘Fly’ Jones, mingled with fans during a patio watch party of the opening episodes at local hotspot Bar 5015.

It’s the latest season filmed in Houston since the program relocated from Georgia.

The opening episodes are already a standout— bringing audiences sophisticated storylines through a mature and richly diverse cast. Moreover, the show continues to stay clear of common troupes that have cheapened countless all-Black shows on high-profile television networks.

The show airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on OWN.

The singles and married host, Tommy Miles (another H-town native), hit the red carpet for photos and interviews. Madd Hatta and many other familiar faces in Houston’s entertainment scene also graced us with their presence.

And then the party was on!

Drinks were flowing, the small bites were delicious, and of course, it wouldn’t be a night out in H-town without hukkah. Guests learned about different community initiatives and purchased merchandise supporting various non-profit foundations during the event.

The watch party was a perfect kick-off to spring as many are ready to get back on the scene and others are…well, ready for love.
