The 2022 mid-term elections will welcome a lot of famous faces to the campaign trail and we are here for it!

From reality stars to Hollywood heartthrobs and everyone in between, the November elections will look more like the Golden Globes instead of a political campaign.

Not surprisingly, for years celebrities have used their influence to push their way into the political arena.

President Ronald Regan kicked off the now common trend. Before he was delivering speeches as the president, he was delivering lines as a Hollywood actor.

Former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, got his start as a competitive bodybuilder who later became an actor, and no one will ever forget that Donald Trump was a millionaire real estate tycoon – turned reality star before he became the 45th – and possibly most controversial – president  in this country’s history.

Following in “The Governator’s” footsteps, former Olympic gold medalist Caitlyn Jenner announced her bid for California Governor.

Jenner, 71, said in a statement, “California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality. But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision.”

It has also been stated that Jenner is working with Trump’s former campaign manager.

With so many jumping at the chance to through their name on the ballot, it’s not far-fetched to believe that actor Matthew McConaughey could possibly be the next Governor of Texas.

According to a poll by The Dallas Morning News and the University of Texas at Tyler, more registered voters say they favor the actor over the incumbent Greg Abbott.

In fact, the poll shows that McConaughey has a 12 point lead over Abbott.

The results found that 45% of Texas registered voters would vote for McConaughey, over the 33% who would vote for Abbott and 22% would vote for someone else.

Poll results also revealed that 30% of Republican voters answered ‘yes’ to voting for McConaughey.

McConaughey was also favored by 66% of Democratic and 44% of Independent party voters.

McConaughey has not said whether he would run as a Republican or a Democrat but has suggested he’s more of a moderate.

The 2022 mid-term election will take place on November 8, 2022.
