The newly-released information comes as Mayor Sylvester Turner continues to try and keep the increasing numbers down as the city opens to 100% on the orders of Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
As of Monday, Mayor Turner tweeted that despite his efforts, the city reported nine new COVID-19 related deaths.
“Today, Houston Health reports 453 new #COVID19 cases in our city which brings the overall total to 180,358. Unfortunately, we are adding nine new deaths today. Please continue to take the necessary precautions that will keep everyone safe as we continue to combat this virus,” he wrote.
Our prayers go out to all of those who have lost and are continuing to lose loved ones due to this deadly pandemic.
