Golf legend Eldrick “Tiger” Woods is recovering after undergoing surgery for multiple injuries to his legs sustained in a major rollover vehicle crash on Tuesday morning.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Woods was headed northbound on a downhill in the wind on a two-lane road in Rancho Palos Verdes, California when his SUV crashed.

“His vehicle crossed onto the wrong side of the road before veering off the road entirely and onto a hillside. A neighbor called 911 to alert authorities of the accident, and Woods was conscious when they arrived on the scene,” said Sheriff Alex Villanueva.

During a press conference, deputies confirmed they had to extract Woods from his SUV.

“Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the ‘jaws of life’ by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries,” an official said.

Woods, 45, was in California serving as host for the Genesis Invitational on Sunday. Afterward, he remained in town for a two-day photo shoot with Golf Digest/GOLFTV.

He was on his way to the photoshoot when the crash occurred.

An outpouring of support has been shared on social media as fans and colleagues send their prayers and we, too, wish Tiger all the best.
