The House of Representatives voted to impeach President Donald J. Trump Wednesday, making him the first President to be impeached twice.

Trump was previously impeached by the House in December 2019, but was acquitted by the Senate in February 2020.

In the most recent impeachment, the House used the 14th Amendment to justify their case against Trump, and closed with a vote of 232 to 197.

This serves as the first time the Republican party has had 10 cabinet members vote against a sitting president in its own party.

Charges against the president include “incitement of insurrection” for his role in the attack on Capitol Hill.

Now that the House has won, it is now up to the Senate to convict Trump, which would stop him from ever holding a public office in the future.

Typically, the president would have responded by social media, but he has been banned from Facebook, Twitter and YouTube due to his incendiary comments.
