Creator, writer and star Issa Rae announced that the time has come to say goodbye to “Insecure.”
“Very excited to film our fifth and final season! We couldn’t have told a complete story without the tremendous support of our audience and the faith of @HBO. See y’all soon! #InsecureHBO,” she wrote.
Rae originally created the show “Awkward Black Girl” on YouTube, which became the launching pad for “Insecure.”
The show, which follows a group of African American friends in their late 20s and early 30s as they navigate life, love and disappointments.
The show grew a cult following and an inspiration for the culture.
It will definitely be missed, but we are hopeful that some of the characters will get their own spin-off show.
