Community Works CDC is challenging local businesses and individuals to help give back this holiday season by participating in the “25 days of Christmas” fundraiser.

The non-profit organization is a subsidy of Free Indeed Church International, and has been a fixture in the community for over 15 years.

Pastor Johnny Douglas Gentry III, the chief executive officer of Community Works CDC, created the $25,000 in 25 days fundraiser to encourage his church members and local businesses to help others in need.

“This year has been extremely difficult for so many, but there are many of us who are still very blessed,” said Pastor Gentry. “Now is the time to lift up our brothers and sisters who are down and show them that God is still in the miracle business.”

The fundraiser kicked off on Dec. 1, and will run until Dec. 25. “Our goal is to raise $25,000 in 25 days that will go towards toys, clothing, food and support services for underprivileged youth, elderly and families in the North Forest community,” Gentry said.
