We see some people are still “Big Mad.” A Detroit area sheriff’s deputy has been fired after posting a racist tweet of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.
The picture showed a carving of President Donald Trump, President-elect Joe Biden, and Vice President Mike Pence as orange Halloween jack-o-lanterns and Harris separately displayed as a dark green watermelon.

The sheriff’s department released a statement to WXYZ Detroit that read, “The day that this post came to our attention, this part-time employee was immediately terminated and is no longer employed by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.”
Oakland NAACP President Dr. Wendell Anthony says he does not feel it was silly Halloween humor.
“It grows out of [the] past and a recognition that often is linked to buffoonery and to less than,” Anthony said. “Yes, I believe that the intent was purposely structured to diminish and to dilute the significance of the first African American…. as vice president of these United States. To some people ignorance is bliss.”
Having a woman of color in the highest government office is a proud, historic achievement for many, but for others, unfortunately, they still see it as a threat.
Get over it people, the votes have been counted.
