Debit cards ready, ladies! It’s time for some retail therapy, and one Houston organization is bringing us a shopping experience that stimulates the soul— and the culture.

Wins for Black Girls: Black Women Marketplace is hosting its first pop-up showcase featuring more than fifteen brands owned by Black women.

Organizers are promising a variety of goods from skincare products, clothing to gourmet burgers and pastries. There will also be games, raffle prizes and live demonstrations.

It’s more than an opportunity to discover new brands and potential holiday gifts, but a chance to support black-owned businesses and network with a group of entrepreneurial-minded women.

“I’m creating this event for Black women like myself, like your favorite coworker and
craziest aunt. This event is for women who win in life,” said Wins for Black Girls CEO and founder Tierra Smith. “We’ve all earned our crowns. We deserve events that make finding products that cater to us and our needs easily accessible.”

The marketplace is happening Nov. 15 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bisong Art Gallery on Sterrett Street in Downtown. Tickets are $10 and can be bought online or at the door.

Here’s a look at the brands that will be featured:

Surprisingly, Wins For Black Girls is a media company that is all about spreading positive news about Black women. Of course, a group of Black women coming together to commune and support each other’s goals is definitely good news.
